Grand Bahama

Attractions
Get ready for an underwater adventure of a lifetime at The Dolphin Experience, an educational and interactive facility where you can swim and play with these friendly creatures. You can also try scuba diving, offered for all levels of experience, which includes several dives around the coral reefs on this nine-and-a-half-acre lagoon.
Activities
- Visit the Garden of the Groves, which features approximately 5,000 species of exotic plants, cascading waterfalls, botanical gardens, scenic trails and a petting zoo with animals and tropical birds.
- Explore Lucayan National Park and the world's largest known underwater cave system. It's 40 acres in total, with six complete ecosystems represented.
- Walk along Freeport's Heritage Trail. Once the main road on the island, today this easy walking trail brings you along a five-mile path with more than 30 species of plants, 18 kinds of birds, seven species of butterfly and “The Hermitage”, the oldest intact building on the island.

Thanks to the beautiful Caribbean waters and endless beaches, you'll find just about every water sport under the sun. Or, if you're looking for an activity on land, you can always head to the golf course.

For a shopping and cultural experience, head straight to the International Bazaar in Freeport. It's divided into separate sections, each representing different parts of the world. You can get great deals and save a bundle on anything from perfume and jewelry to handmade arts and crafts.
Food
What you may know as the Spiny Lobster is commonly referred to as "Crawfish" on Grand Bahama Island. It's a local delicacy that you'll come across on most menus and it is served in a variety of ways.
Currency
The Bahamian dollar (BSD) is the official unit of currency. U.S. dollars, traveler's checks and credit cards are widely accepted.
